Through the years, many buildings have become victim to the newest thing, the ‘be all end all.’ From aluminum siding, to chalice/louver windows, to today’s plastic vinyl trailer window inserts, to tex-cote/elastimeric. Tex-cote caught this beautiful 1907 Prairie Style home. Even though 30 times thicker than paint, when it’s elasticity ended in 10 years, so did it’s promises. After sandblasting all of the elastimeric coating off, custom mixing sand size and stucco colors, refinishing the stucco was completed. This is an American architectural design coming out of the Chicago area and influenced by the expansive treeless horizons of the mid-west. Not many here in the Los Angeles area.
